When you take the time to discover Los Angeles, you’ll be amazed at what you can find. For example, did you know that every year the city of Monterey Park hosts a Cherry Blossom Festival? This year, the 22nd annual Cherry Blossom Festival will take place Saturday and Sunday April, 27th and 28th. Be sure to mark your calendars for the Cherry Blossom Festival Monterey Park 2019.
During this event, you can learn more about the Japanese and Japanese American culture. Enjoy watching live performances of traditional Japanese dancing, hearing the taiko drums as well as martial arts performances. Buy handmade crafts, enjoy delicious asian food or even take part in the ancient art of the tea ceremony. There will also be a kids section where they can enjoy activities and arts and crafts. Of course, during the event, you’ll also be able to take in the beautiful sights of the Cherry Blossom.
This year, on Saturday, April 27th, opening ceremonies will begin at 12pm. The guest master of ceremonies will be ABC7 meteorologist Kimi Evans. On Saturday, festivities will go until 7pm. On Sunday, April 28th, the festival will be from 11am - 6pm. This year, the event will take place at Barnes Park located at 350 S. McPherrin Ave. in Monterey Park.
