With summer fast approaching, do as the locals do and head to the beach. With some of the best beaches around, Los Angeles offers miles and miles of beautiful beaches. Bring out your towels and don’t forget the sunscreen when you head out to these popular beaches close to hotels near LA beaches.

Santa Monica and the Santa Monica Pier is one of the most visited tourist destinations in all of Los Angeles. The Santa Monica Pier area offers miles of paved paths to bike across as well as beautify sandy beaches with lots of room to lay out and soak up the sun. Of course, at the Pier you’ll also find Pacific Park, home of the only ocean side amusement park in Los Angeles. Enjoy fun rides, carnival games, and the Ferris wheel offering impressive views of the city and the Ocean below.

The Venice Beach Boardwalk is also another famous destination in Los Angeles. Home of the Muscle Beach, you can check out bodybuilders lifting impressive amounts of weight as you walk along this world famous pier. The boardwalk is a haven for artists and street performers. Here, you’ll find break dancers, musicians, jugglers, mimes and many more performers as you walk along the path. You’ll find a number of different artists stalls here, all offering hand made creative arts and crafts. The Venice boardwalk is also a great place if you’re looking to pick up some souvenirs as you’ll be sure to find unique yet affordable trinkets here.

If you continue North from Santa Monica, you’ll eventually find yourself at Malibu, known for some of the best beaches in all of Los Angeles. It’s a reason the rich and the famous go to Malibu, and the stunning coastline views are definitely reasons why. Big Rock is one beach along the Malibu stretch that is great for exploring tide pools and searching for crabs. There are also large rocks amid the water, making it a great place for photo opps. Other beaches offering more sand include Topanga and Surfrider beach.
