The 17th annual Dia de los Muertos festival is once again coming to the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. This Mexican holiday is an important part of the culture and people of Mexico. If you are looking for Day Of The Dead Events in Hollywood, all are invited to participate in this celebration that honors and remembers the lives of loved ones. This year, Dia de los Muertos will be celebrated at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery on October 29th.

At this cultural event, there will be many things to enjoy. For example, come and check out the live music from Grammy winner Julieta Venegas and other artists such as Buyepongo, mitre, Alejandro y Maria Laura and Mariachi flor de Toloache. In addition to these live music performances, there will also be theatrical performances and an incredible Aztec Ritual done in full costume. One of the biggest parts of the festival will be looked at the over 100 altars that have been created by members of the community. These altars are made for ancestors and are decorated with pictures and offerings are left on the altar as well. At the nearby Cathedral Mausoleum there will also be a special art exhibit that has been created in honor of dia de los muertos.

The altar exhibit will be open from 12pm through 12am. Winners for various categories will be announced at the Main Stage at 8pm. The Aztec dances and rituals will take place throughout the day at the Aztec Circle on the Lake as well as throughout the grounds of the cemetery. If you have children, feel free to bring them along and stop by the Children’s Art Center. At this center, they can engage in fun arts & crafts as well as face painting. This will be open from 12pm-6pm. These are just some of the exciting things you can see while at this event.
