August 3, 2016
band performing

Can you imagine an entire weekend with FREE concerts sprinkled throughout the city? You’ve heard of music festivals that require you to purchase expensive passes that are good for the whole weekend but what about a music festival where you didn’t have to pay a single dime? What about a music festival that featured new, up and coming and local artists all for free? Enter Echo Park Rising, the incredible summer event that brings together music, art, food and local businesses for an incredible weekend. And did we mention that it’s free? This year, Echo Park Rising will be from August 18th through the 21st. When staying in West Hollywood or surrounding areas make sure to stop by for a visit!

One of the great things about Echo Park Rising is its focus on the local talent. Many of the bands that will perform during the weekend have grown up on the streets of Los Angeles. What results is a fusion of sounds and feelings that are reminiscent of LA. True to its history, many bands continue the Los Angeles trend of grunge, punk, rock and surf noir music. Other bands take on a more psychedelic or soul feel. Whatever your taste in music is, you’ll be sure to find something you love during this incredible musical weekend. Some of the bands that you can listen to this weekend include La Luz, Chicano Batman, The Abigails, The Altons, The Black Heartthrobs, Cheap Tissue, Enormous Forces, Featherwolf, The Flytraps, Guides, The Hurricanes, Iris, Ivory Deville, Jail Weddings, Jamie Allensworth, Love Ghost, King Flamingo, King Washington, The Knitts, Kolars and so many more!

Echo Park Rising takes place at various venues throughout the area such as The Echo. On each day of the event, bands begin playing at 1pm. Echo Park Rising is FREE and open to all ages. If you are interested in purchasing a VIP 3-Day Pass, these can be purchased through the official event website at www.epra.la Your VIP pass allows you access to special viewing areas, easy bar access, the ability to skip lines and more. For more information visit www.epr.la
