When visiting Hollywood, it might seem like at first glance that the area is pretty touristy. While there are some destinations that are more touristy than others, there are still a number of places that the locals like to enjoy. If you want to enjoy something off the beaten path, read on to find out what the locals enjoy!

One place you’ll want to stop by is the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. The place is a favorite of locals as there are a number of exciting events that are hosted at the cemetery throughout the year. Ever wondered what it would be like to watch a movie at night in a cemetery? Or how about watching a live band at a cemetery? Now you can know when you visit Hollywood Forever. In addition, the cemetery is famous as it is the final resting place of many Hollywood celebrities. Some of the stars that you’ll find buried at the cemetery include Johnny Ramone, Jayne Mansfield, Douglas Fairbanks, Cecil B. DeMille, Rudolph Valentino and more. Check out their website for upcoming events.

Good Times at Davey Wayne’s, also known as Davey Wayne’s to the locals, is a 70s themed bar held at a secret location. You’ve heard of speakeasies, but Davey Wayne’s takes it to the next level. When you walk in through the doors, it’ll be like you just walked onto an episode of That 70s Show complete with retro sofas, TVs and more. One inside, enjoy the stellar cocktails including a boozy sno-cone! Did we forget to mention that there’s no official address to the location. Located on El Centro Ave, off Hollywood Blvd, guests have to look for a spot that looks similar to a garage sale. Go to the old looking refrigerator and head on inside. That’s right, you’ll have to walk through the refrigerator to enter into the bar. Enjoy!

If you feel like getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city, head into nature and take a hike at Lake Hollywood. This location is incredibly convenient as you don’t even have to leave the city to feel like you’re back in nature. At Lake Hollywood, you’ll enjoy a Children’s play area, barbecue pits, and picnic tables! Feel free to grab some food, invite some friends and have a picnic on a nice sunny day.
