The Los Angeles Film Festival is an annual event that brings together movie lovers from across the country and even around the world. At the LA Film Festival, you can participate in events such as world premieres as well as screenings of short films, documentaries, feature length films and more. If you love watching movies, than attending this year’s LA Film Festival is just the the thing for you. This year, the film fest will be held from June 1st through the 9th. The festival will kick off on June 1st where the film, Lowriders will premiere opening night. This movie, which stars Eva Longoria, Melissa Benoist, Demian Bichir, and Gabriel Chavarria takes place in East Los Angeles amidst the car culture of LA. The movie follows Danny, a young and talented street artist who finds himself caught between the lowrider world of his ex-con brother and old-school father and the world of art that defines his self-expression. Other movie premieres include 72 Hours, Blood Stripe, Dreamstates, My First Kiss and the People Involved, Paint it Black, The View from Tall, and Woven. There will also be a number of documentaries that will be premiered at the film festival. For example Dying Laughing is a documentary about the creative process, craft, and the complicated lives of stand up comedians. Another documentary is The Last Gold, a documentary produced by the USA Swimming team which is about the 1976 women’s Olympic Team and the East German doping scandal.
