places not to go in hollywood

When your visiting Los Angeles, you probably have a long list of  places to visit near hollywood on your bucket list. At the same time however, there are definitely places not to go in Hollywood that don’t really live up to the hype. For what not to do, keep reading to find out more.

Make sure you don’t forget about the L.A. Metro. Sure, compared to most cities, L.A. is exactly known for their metro system. However, in recent years, the metro has been expanding and you can certainly get around to many different neighborhoods using the metro. It’s just $1.75 per ride, which includes free transfers. Or, get a day pass for just $7. With metro you can get affordable access to neighborhoods like Hollywood, Downtown L.A., Universal City and more.

Don’t jaywalk. In other cities, jaywalk isn’t even worth batting an eye over but in Los Angeles, its an offense that police officer will definitely stop you for and they will give you a serious fine. Don’t get stopped and fined for something as silly as jaywalking and instead, be sure to stick to crosswalks. Don’t also try to pay for everything with a credit card. If you’re going to be in L.A., you definitely want to stop at some of the gourmet food trucks and food carts. However, not all of these vendors are going to be equipped with card machines, so be sure to have some cash on hand so you can enjoy all the good eats that city has to offer.

Don’t pass up the museums. Even if going to museums is exactly your thing, don’t forget to at least consider the museums the city has to offer. There’s world renowned art museums such as the Los Angeles Museum of Art and the Getty Villa, but there’s also quirkier museums such as the Museum of Death; and don’t forget that there are a number of museums that are free as well! Finally, don’t go to runyon canyon. You’ve probably heard that celebrities hike this trail often and while you may see a celebrity now once in a blue moon, you’ll mostly see a crowded trail filled with people and dogs.
